New Service for All Ages

Ever thought about going to church… but don’t?

  • Do you have a faith, but you just aren't sure of it, or what it means to you?
  • Perhaps you don’t have time to explore your faith?
  • Is traditional church too ‘formal’ for your needs?

The West of Severn Benefice is delighted to announce the creation of a new service to be held at Ashleworth Church every Sunday at 11am, which will be relevant to 21st Century lifestyles, help you understand your beliefs and answer some of those ‘big’ questions. The service will be very informal and aimed at all age groups, but won’t be a ‘family service’ as such.

We are aiming at a short service (45 minutes max.) with no long passages to read from the service book. Come as you are… and if that means straight off your bike and still in lycra, that’s fine! There will be music - a few hymns & songs, with a mix of the older favourites and something new, when we are allowed to sing in church again! Accompaniment will be contemporary in keeping with the style of service. You can expect short readings and the odd video clip, but you won’t be expected to clap and wave your hands in the air! The sermon will be short, with a message to take away for the week ahead.

Eventually, when we are able to serve refreshments, tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available before, during and after the service.

Please come along to our first service, 11am at Ashleworth Church on Sunday 11th October, and see if this is the service for you !
